About this set: This collection has been a labor of love for several years. The 1954 Bowman set caught my eye early in 1989. The rich pastel colors, especially on high grade examples, give the cards an almost 3-D appearance. The relaxed poses against spring training backgrounds are unique for this era of baseball cards. Finding high grade examples of certain players (Lindell; Lockman; O'Connell; and Vernon) can be a real challenge. The "chase" for these cards is definitely part of the charm of this set. I wish to thank several people who have been instrumental in helping me put this set together. First and foremost is Barry Bilder (a/k/a Stickball, among other aliases). He shares my passion for this set. Thanks also to Peter Lalos (Champs and Bums); Levi Bleam (707 Sportscards); Kris Keppler; Eddie Lewis (Coneyislandsportscards); Ronald Goldman; Chris Kersich; and a host of others. My sincere appreciation to all. Thank you. Matt
