One of the most befuddling baseball card sets ever produced, due to a numbering system that no one (probably including Leaf) could quite fathom, resulting in a 100-card set of skip-numbered cards, half of them being short prints which are quite rare and highly prized. The cards also suffered from a somewhat suspect printing process, resulting in many with poor registration. Fortunately, one era in which leaf did not blunder was in player selection, not only featuring virtually all of the biggest stars of the period (including Babe Ruth, in a tribute effort), but also the first cards of Jackie Robinson & Satchel Paige. For good measure two variations are included, Gene Hermanski (correct and incorrect name spelling) and Cliff Aberson (long and short sleeves).
