This wonderful set, consisting of just over 200 cards, is considered one of the desirable pre-war issues in the hobby. With an assortment of stars, variations and backs, the demand for this set has slowly increased year in and year out. Included are highly desirable examples of Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Tris Speaker, and Christy Mathewson to name a few. Due to the difficulty in obtaining high-quality examples (the gold borders are extremely susceptible to chipping and edge wear), these examples often sell for a premium, above examples in the incredibly popular T-206 set. The T-205 cards are arguably the best looking baseball cards from the first half of the 20th Century and perhaps ever. On the reverse of the cards, different cigarette advertisers can be found with Drum, Hindu, and Broad Leaf examples sometimes selling for a premium. This is one of the toughest sets to complete on the PSA Set Registry.
