About this set: --So much has been written about the 1975 Topps Mini Set and its colorful design, scarcity, wonderful crop of stars, Hall of Famers, and significant rookie cards. However, my focus and passion for building this set stems from personally witnessing the very poor quality of cards that come from untampered packs, straight out of sealed cases. A majority of the cards are often miss-cut, off-centered, or tarnished with several printing dots and imperfections. Throw in a little gum and wax staining and the hunt for truly Mint mini cards becomes quite a fun challenge (and obsession LOL).
--My first graded minis came from a handful of cards I have possessed since the mid 80's, collected as a teen from packs, card shows, etc. The next batch came via Tetetrade phone auctions during the mid-90's, and the remaining majority from Ebay hunting as of 1999. A few years ago I caught the "registry bug" and decided to cross-over my BVG, GAI, and SGC graded minis along with grading the remainder of my raw minis into PSA holders (thank God for monthly grading specials). Although of note, I was not brave enough to crack my BVG 9 Brett and BVG 9.5 Yount (maybe someday?).
--My set now consists of all cards graded in PSA 8 or better, with a focus not only on the grade listed on the holder label, but the "true condition" of the card. Most of which have great centering, minimal-to-no print defects (i.e., dots & fish eyes), and proper size (filling the holder). See for yourself?
--For now, I look forward to upgrading some loose ends...Enjoy the Album!
