The 1958 Topps Hockey set consists of 66 cards measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2". The cards represent players from the four American teams in the National Hockey League – Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers. Each cardfront features the player’s likeness with a background consisting of two solid colors split diagonally. The player’s name is printed across the top with his team affiliation and position across the bottom. The gallery includes Terry Sawchuk (#2), Gordie Howe (#8, with his name misspelled “Gordy” on the front), Glenn Hall (#13), Gump Worsley (#39) and the rookie card of Eddie Shack (#30). The rookie card of Bobby Hull (#66) is among the set’s integral pieces. As it was situated in the bottom corner of the 1958 Topps uncut sheet the Golden Jet’s card is also subject to centering issues, and as the last card in the set is often the victim of rubber band and handling wear – making it elusive in high-grade form.
