This was the largest set of cards ever issued (at the time) with 598 different issues plus multitudinous varieties. The cards are 2½" by 3½" and feature a photo of the player on the front and a biography, cartoon and statistics on the reverse. Popular subsets in this series include the nine "In-Action" cards and the ten Babe Ruth cards. There are also multi-player rookie cards (a first), team cards, World Series cards, All-Star cards and other special items. The high numbers include some rare "short-prints."
