Taking My Hacks – The Baseball Hall of Fame Grows by Six

Taking My HacksThis year, six more men will be enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine, Tony LaRussa, Greg Maddux, Frank Thomas and Joe Torre will be honored this summer in Cooperstown. The group features two crafty pitchers, a great hitter and three fine managers. In fact, Torre excelled as a player and manager during his career. It is a group of individuals that are generally well-liked and respected, free of the controversy that surrounds the process and game to some degree. In the following article, PSA’s Joe Orlando takes a quick look at the new inductees and the ones who didn’t make the cut.

PSA/DNA Set Registry – Collecting Autographed Baseballs of Hall of Fame Baseball Players

Autographed BaseballsIn the world of autographs, collecting single-signed baseballs of Hall of Famers ranks amongst the most popular themes. Set Registry Spotlight

Hockeywax – The Number One Current Finest 1953-54 Parkhurst – Basic Hockey Set
There is no doubt that this issue remains one of the most beautiful trading card sets ever produced. The 100-card 1953 Parkhurst set contains fantastic eye-appeal and the cards are very tough in top grades to boot. The cards will often suffer from various degrees of toning along the edges, which can hinder the appeal if severe. Within this classic set, a nice selection of HOF rookie cards reside like those of Gump Worsley, Andy Bathgate, Harry Howell and Jean Beliveau – the most valuable card in the issue. The set also contains a very tough #1 card to find in high-grade (Harry Lumley). With an awesome GPA of 8.41 the 2013 winner for the Best Vintage Hockey Set is now the finest ever assembled on the registry. It is also one of only two complete sets in registry history to reach a GPA of PSA 8 or better. Click here to view this set.
