Sports Legends and Collectibles Come to the Long Beach Expo
Join PSA and a host of stellar attractions February 7-9, 2013 at the Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Sports Collectible Expo. On Saturday February 9, Basketball Hall of Famers Magic Johnson, Jerry West and the famous jockey Laffit Pincay, Jr. will sign autographs, and the popular Laker Girls will appear. A one-of-kind exhibit featuring nine examples of the most valuable card in the world, the T206 Honus Wagner, will be on display. Top dealers are buying and selling sport-related items, and PSA will be on hand to accept submissions.
Taking My Hacks: The Importance of Staying Active
In the hobby, collectors tend to go through periods when they are very active and, other times, when they go through dry spells. This can be a product of not being able to find items they want to buy or due to a limited budget as a result of financial strain. Whatever the case may be, the inactivity has a tendency to reduce a collector's enthusiasm. In the following piece, PSA's Joe Orlando discusses this topic and he offers suggestions of how collectors can avoid falling victim to the inactivity blues.

Set Registry Spotlight
The Timmer Collection – The Number One Current Finest 1961-1989 Wax Packs All Series Basketball Set
As more packs are opened over time, the scarcer they become. There is also no question that the advent of third-party grading gave collectors even more reason to risk opening vintage packs, which was once almost unthinkable. This particular basketball pack run covers three important decades of card production. It was during this time period that some of the most important basketball rookie cards ever made were released, including those of Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. This set, which is also the 2012 winner for Best Unopened Pack Set of the Year, has a set rating of 6.79 for the 16 packs needed to complete the run. Click here to view this set.
