PSA COLLECTOR SPOTLIGHT
PSA Q & A Question: I have been collecting 1959 Fleer Three Stooges cards and have noticed a wide range in color on these cards. Does that impact the grade?Answer: There is no doubt that eye-appeal will affect the grade when evaluating a card; however, if there is a wide variance within an issue and it is common, it will have much less of an impact. The 1959 Fleer Three Stooges issue is one where big variances in color, registration and border tone are very common. Since that is the case, you may see various PSA 8 Curly cards -- for example -- with slightly different appearances. That said, collectors should buy cards that they find attractive, regardless of the technical grade.
