PSA EDITORIAL
PSA Q & A Question: How does paper loss affect the grade of a card?Answer: Well, it all comes down to severity. Often times, a card will grade no higher than a PSA 1 or 2, or simply PSA Authentic, if there is significant paper loss on the front or back of a card. You often see significant paper loss on vintage cards that were once glued in albums. There are other times where very minor loss can occur from simple wear on the tip of a corner or minor paper loss from the cut that will still allow a card to qualify for a much higher grade. The bottom line is that there is no black and white rule. The severity of the paper loss will dictate the grade.
