PSA SET REVIEW

Rich Gossage Player Set: A Wild "Goose" Chase That Ends in Cooperstown
Goose Gossage was one of the most feared pitchers in the league during his prime. He possessed a blazing fastball and a mean stare that made hitters tremble at the plate. Since his induction into the HOF, Gossage collectibles have received a boost as more collectors have taken note of his great accomplishments. In the following piece, we take a look at the cards that commemorate his career. Click here to read on.

PSA SET REGISTRYSM SPOTLIGHT

Davalillo - The Number One Current Finest 1964 Kahns Weiners Set
With a set rating of 8.41, this set is just points away from the finest possible set rating of 8.72. The composite requires 53 cards for completion and contains a Paul Warfield card which holds special interest to many collectors as it was issued early in his career. Davalillo's set leaves little room for improvement, as this set is filled with an ample amount of "Top Pops." Within this grouping 31 are the single finest graded examples, including the Paul Warfield card! Congratulations! Click here to enjoy.

PSA SET REGISTRY AWARDS 2008
Just two weeks to go! The deadline for this year's PSA Set Registry Awards is Friday, June 13th. Any new sets or edits to existing sets must be committed before 5:00 pm EST (2:00 pm PST). Click here to visit the new site.

To review the list of award categories, please click here.

All sets which are in the top in their category are considered in contention. Judging by PSA experts will take place the third week in June and the winners will be announced at the end of June. Awards will be presented at the annual PSA Set Registry Luncheon. This year, the National Sports Collectors Convention will be held in Rosemont, Illinois. The luncheon is planned for Friday, August 1st from 11:30 to 1:30. Email invitations will be mailed out mid-June.

In order to qualify you must own and have possession of the cards and tickets you are listing in your sets.

Due to our recent import from V1 to V2, you may find that items are missing from your inventory or you might find that you are unable to add an item because the certification number is not recognized by the program. In both cases, please email [email protected] with scans of the front and back of any item you are having a problem with.

Occasionally, you may find an item is still being listed in another member's set. If you have sent an auto request to the former owner to remove and he or she has not done so, please send personal scans of the front and back of your item and we'll get the item released for you.

If you find you cannot add an item to a set even though there is a line item for it, please send in the request for us to add the spec number for this item using the form called "Report a cert that should match this composite" which is linked from your set in MY SETS in MY SET REGISTRY. Please make sure the request is sent in prior to the deadline. WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR REQUEST BY 5 PM EST (2 PM PST) ON FRIDAY, JUNE 13TH IN ORDER FOR THE CARD TO QUALIFY.

We do not extend the Set Registry awards deadline for any reason, so please plan ahead!

PSA Q & A

Question: Is there a major difference, visually, between a 1956 Topps Grey Back and White Back other than the reverse?

Answer: Great question. There is not a huge difference but the Grey Backs tend to have richer and brighter colors than the White Backs. In terms of eye appeal, the Grey Backs do seem to have a slight edge most of the time but the biggest difference remains on the reverse.
