PSA Q & A

Question: I am a little nervous about reviewing my cards for the new half-point increase at PSA. I realize that I may not get a very high percentage and I don't want to lose money in the process. What should I do?

Answer: Great question. Keep in mind that you don't need to achieve a very high % of "bumps", in most cases, in order to receive a benefit. For example, a customer recently submitted a group of 120 vintage baseball cards. He was very worried about the cost of reviewing all the cards. The bad news is that only 35 of the 120 cards received the upgrade. The good news is that one single card (one that achieved the half-point "bump") paid for the review of the entire group 10 times over! The key is not necessarily the % of "bumps" - it is the quality of the "bumps." We do stress that you should scrutinize your cards prior to submission for exceptional centering and eye-appeal. This service is not for every card and achieving a half-point "bump" will not affect each card in the same manner. In conclusion, you do not necessarily need a high % of upgrades in order to reap great benefits.
