1954-55 Topps Hockey: A Great First Impression
The 1954 Topps hockey set is not only one of the most visually attractive sets in the world of hockey; it is also considered one of the most
beautiful sets in the entire hobby. Boasting bold blue and red colors throughout, this set is as tough as it is appealing. The colored bottom border
and edges are extremely susceptible to wear, making high-grade copies hard to come by for the advanced collector. The images are spectacular as well,
you can even see the ice floating in mid-air as Gordie Howe skates into view. In the following piece, find out what makes this hockey classic so popular.

PSA Q & A
Question:
What is the difference between manufactured scarcity and pure scarcity?
Answer:
Manufactured scarcity is something that is created by a seller or company. For example, if I have Derek Jeter sign some baseballs -- hand numbered
and limited to 500 -- that would be considered manufactured scarcity since the only reason they are considered "limited" is due to the fact that
the baseballs are numbered. Other than that, they are merely Derek Jeter signed baseballs. Pure scarcity has more to do with survival than
creation. For example, there may only be 2 known game-used Derek Jeter rookie jerseys. They were not intended to be a limited edition collectible;
that is simply the number that exists. Additional authentic Jeter rookie jerseys cannot be created. Both types of items have their own appeal;
however, some collectibles that are "manufactured" to be scarce may have questionable long term value.
