PSA SET REVIEW
Taking My Hacks: An Early Look at Half-Point Grading
PSA's new half-point grading system has made an immediate impact on the hobby. Cards that have achieved the half-point bump have started to sell for, in many cases, noticeable premiums above the lower, full grade. In fact, some of the sales have set all-time records at auction. What does the future hold for these cards? In the following piece, Joe Orlando takes an early look at this issue.

PSA SET REGISTRYSM SPOTLIGHT
Boy from Monessen - The Number One Current Finest Roberto Clemente Master Set
Currently, the master set composite consists of 181 vintage cards and the Boy from Monessen is only missing four of them. This amazing collection has a weighted GPA of 8.02 and has impressed a lot of fellow collectors. One comment on the set called it "one of the most impressive sets on the Registry." The "Boy's" hard work earned him a "Best of the Registry" certificate for 2008. Knowing this collector's passion for his collection, we are convinced we will continue to see this set in the number one position in spite of a number of worthy contenders.

V2 Hot Tip - Did You Know...
If a spec number is missing from a set and you cannot add your card even though there is a slot for it, in MY SETS, in the set in question, click on the link called Report a cert that should match this composite and follow these instructions.
Spec numbers are updated within one business day.
Note that if you select "New Slot" to send in your request, it may take longer for the update. If the card is listed in the set, but you cannot add yours, then be certain to keep "Add Spec to existing slot" as your request type for faster turnaround.
- Leave "Add spec to existing slot" as the Request Type
- Select the slot in the dropdown box for the card that is missing the spec number
- Type in your Cert Number
- Click the Submit Request button
V2 linked to Collectors Corner
The Set Registry is linked to Collectors Corner, a Collectors Universe company. Collectors Corner is a marketplace for coins, currency and trading cards. When you are in a set in MY SETS, if an item that is being listed in Collectors Corner is available to fill a slot or upgrade an item in your set, there will be a link in the ACTION column. Clicking this link will take you directly to Collectors Corner where you can purchase the item from an authorized dealer.

PSA Q & A
When it comes to paper loss and card grading, what is PSA's stance?
Paper loss is one of the more subjective issues in card grading. It all has to do with the severity of the paper loss. Technically, a card may be downgraded to a PSA Poor 1 or Good 2 for paper loss but, if very minor, the card may still qualify for a grade near the higher end of the scale - even a PSA NM 7 or NM-MT 8 - though rare. Eye-appeal and degree are the two key factors.
