PSA HOBBY NEWS

Yellow Brick Gold: R&R to Offer Unique Wizard of Oz Relic
It was only one in a series of mishaps that upset production of the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz. Nearly seventy years later, a memento of a near-tragedy has re-emerged as a one-of-a-kind treasure with a provenance tracing directly to the set of the film. A copy of L. Frank Baum's New Wizard of Oz, signed by the principal cast, more than a dozen other cast and crew members, and even Dorothy's "little dog, too" is among the lots featured in R&R Enterprises' February auction. Collecting Cards of Baseball's Sweet Swinging Tony

PSA SET REGISTRY SM SPOTLIGHT

Bumchex - The Number One All Time Finest 1977 Topps Star Wars Set
There seems to be a lot of action in the 1977 Topps Star Wars set these days. There are now 28 players trying to reach that top spot with frequent updates being recorded. In 2005, Captain Jon received top honors for his set and won "Best Non-Sports Set" while receiving the "Best of the Registry" certificates in 2004 and 2006. However, there's a new kid on block who is now holding on to that number one spot. Bumchex has had his set listed for less than a year and has now surpassed Captain Jon's set by just a couple of points. This race is getting good! Click here to view.

T206 Varieties
Please note that PSA has recently made a modification in the labeling of the 1909-11 T206 baseball set. PSA is now designating the many different back varieties in this set. As these are newly recognized and previously not cataloged in our database, you may receive an error message pertaining to a spec # not being associated with this set. Please allow 1 business day for the spec # to be added. Once the set has been updated, you will be able to add your card. As a reminder, the spec #'s are PSA's internal numbering system and are how the Registry recognizes valid cards for the sets.

PSA Q & A

Question: From an authentication perspective, what happens when an autograph is real but it's traced over by someone other than the original signor?

Answer: Great question. As long as the experts can determine authenticity, the autograph can be authenticated but since it has been enhanced by another party, it could not be graded on a scale of 1-10.
