PSA Q & A

Question: With PSA pack grading now in motion, will you guys be designating whether or not a pack came from a full box?

Answer: No. This is something PSA thought long and hard about. Since a pack is an individually certified item and encapsulated separately, we feel that there is no need to make that notation. It is true that, intact, an item like a 1986 Fleer basketball box is worth more than 36 packs from various boxes. This is a result of the distribution of cards guaranteed in full box form. That being said, once the packs are certified, they are evaluated as individual items and may be traded individually - rendering the "from a full box" designation meaningless.
