PSA SET REVIEW
Quarterback Delight: A Look at the 1957 Topps Football Set The 1957 Topps football card set was truly an innovative and historical product in the hobby. Among other things, this set established the now standard card size of 2 1/2" by 3 1/2". Also, rookie cards of Hall of Famers Hornung and McDonald appear in this set. Because of those reasons and many others, Jim Churilla thinks this set is one of the best football card sets of all time. Click here to find out why.

PSA SET REGISTRY SM SPOTLIGHT
Rookie Ecstasy - The Number One Current Finest Hall of Fame Rookies Set
Michael Rakosi, the owner of Rookie Ecstasy, is not unknown to the PSA Set Registry. A number of his sets have been inducted into the PSA Set Registry Hall of Fame: 1968-69 Topps Test basketball (2006), 1961-62 Fleer basketball (2005), 1957-58 Topps basketball (2004), and 1948 Bowman basketball (2003). Therefore, it is not surprising that in 2006, Michael was awarded the "Best of the Registry" certificate for his HOF Rookies set, surging past the indelible Museum of Sports History set, the 2003-2005 winner in the category. Congratulations! Click here to view.

PSA Q & A
Question:
Is it possible for a Type II original photo to sell for more than a Type I?
Answer:
In short - yes. While Type I photos were developed closer to the time when the photo was actually taken, there are other factors in photo valuation. Clarity, content and condition are all factors in valuation. For example, you could have one Type I photo that contains a mediocre image of Babe Ruth - perhaps from a distance or not in uniform - while a Type II Babe Ruth photo contains a spectacular image. Eye-appeal has a great deal to do with value. On the other hand, all things being equal (same image, same condition, same clarity, etc.), the Type I will usually sell for more than the Type II version - sometimes much more.
