PSA HISTORY

Swinging into the Past: A Look at Pre-War Golf Cards
Golf cards made their first real appearance with a few cards included in the 1898 Ogden's Cigarette's Cricketers and Sportsmen. There cards were introduced in England around 1875 to encourage tobacco sales and brand loyalty. Today, golf cards offer an excellent investment opportunity. Golf is as popular as ever, and many golf cards have survived in outstanding condition. Click here to read on.

PSA ANNOUNCEMENT

"Check" This Out
Over the past two or three years, we have enjoyed increased autograph submissions from collectors who appreciate the benefits of owning PSA-authenticated items. In response, we're introducing a brand new holder -- one that's big enough to protect large-size tickets and signed checks. PSA Q & A

Question: Do the color variations on Super Bowl tickets affect the value?

Answer: In some cases - yes. For many years, the NFL would designate certain sections at the game with different colors. For example, wheelchair access seating might be a different color than lodge seating and so on. It is certainly not always the case but there are certain years where tickets can be found in a variety of colors. The scarcer the color variation, generally speaking, the more valuable. As ticket collectors become more familiar with these variations, the difference in value should become more apparent in the market.
