Armour Coins
During the summer of 1955, mothers in NYC and other cities across the North East and mid-West were coerced into buying Armour hot dogs so their sons could get the plastic baseball player coins inside each package. The gimmick worked! Click here to read more about these unique sports collectibles.

PSA Q & A

Question: Is it possible for an unsigned photo to be worth more than a signed photo - even if the photo is of the same player?

Answer: Yes it is. For example, Babe Ruth may sign a photo where he is pictured in street clothes, posing with some friends. In that case, the photo is certainly desirable but it may not be as desirable as a classic shot of Ruth in uniform despite the fact that this photo is unsigned. The image content plays a huge role in the value of photographs, both signed and unsigned. Many people prefer "in uniform" shots but candid, unique shots out of uniform can also be very desirable. The quality, significance and eye-appeal of the image are key.
