PSA EDITORIAL
Pre-War Baseball Searing Along It's hard to imagine but as recently as 5 years ago, many pre-war issues were trading on the "soft" side. At that time, some hobbyists theorized that collecting pre-war might not be a worthwhile endeavor simply because it was perceived as too difficult. Today, that has all changed due to three reasons: grade acceptance, scarcity confidence, and baseball's beginnings. Click here to read more about it.

PSA Q & A
Question:
Why are so many Babe Ruth signed cancelled checks made out to cash?
Answer:
Well, Babe Ruth was known for having a great time, both on and off the field. He certainly lived life to the fullest. The most common theory behind the existence of these types of checks is supported by his lifestyle. Since Ruth was a guy who loved to go out on the town, the theory is that he needed cash in his pocket -- and a lot of it! When you consider Ruth's lifestyle and his appetite for fun, this theory holds up very well. The Babe cashed a lot of checks in his day.
