PSA SET REGISTRY SM SPOTLIGHT
The Spotlight is on ALL PSA Set Registry Members!
The awards deadline has passed the judges have selected the winners for the 2005 PSA Set Registry Awards and the inductees to the PSA Set Registry Hall of Fame. Announcements will be made in the near future. But this week, we want to thank all of the 2,953 members who are participating in the Registry program. We continue to be amazed by your enthusiasm and "wowed" not only the sheer numbers of sets registered, but by the amazing dedication members of the program continue to exhibit. Every day throughout the Registry, new sets are being added and established sets are being upgraded and expanded. Members continue to share their expertise with one another enjoy friendly competition. Many of the PSA authorized dealers support the Registry not only by offering cards to participants, but by building their own collections. Unfortunately, there can only be a limited number of big winners each year, but in our view everyone participating in the Registry is a winner. For your love of the PSA Set Registry, we sincerely thank each and every one of you. It is our pleasure to serve you.

PSA Q & A
Question:
I am having a hard time understanding the term "Regional" as it relates to trading cards. Can you explain?
Answer:
That is a great question. The term is used quite loosely. For many, Regional issue simply means that the issue was not distributed nationally (hence the word "regional"), like a traditional issue produced by a national card manufacturer like Topps. So, for example, if a card issue was released only in a certain sector of the U.S., that would be considered regional since the some areas did not have access to them. This would include issues like Bell Brand Potato Chips. Some non-traditional cards (like Kellogg's) are referred to as Regional issues despite the fact that they were, in some cases, distributed on a national level but not via packs. For example, many cards were issued with food products like potato chips, cookies, hot dogs, cereal, etc. and some of them were distributed in food chains across the nation, yet people refer to them as Regional issues simply because they were not traditional so to speak. While the definition seems to vary, it generally refers to card issues that were not issued in a traditional fashion.
