SET REGISTRY SPOTLIGHT

Northern Lights - The Number One Current Finest 1910-11 C56 Hockey Set
Here's another set that saw the leadership change from a two-year leader, Steve Yawitz, to a new "Best of the Registry" winner in 2004, Northern Lights. C56 hockey is a popular 36-card tobacco set with high grade cards nearly impossible to find. Congratulations to Northern Lights who is registered with a 6.12 GPA. Click here to view the set.

Important Notice Regarding Missing Spec Numbers
If you attempt to add a card to your set that does not have a spec number associated with it, you will get an error message. You should email [email protected] with the certification number of the card. Note that it is NOT necessary to send a scan of the card. The spec numbers are PSA's internal numbering system. A spec number error message does not mean that the card is not in the database. It merely means that we need to add the spec number to the Set Registry. There will be a high incident of missing spec numbers in modern sets, player sets, and HOF sets.

New Autographed Baseball Registry!
A year ago, PSA and PSA/DNA combined services to offer you autographed baseball grading. Now, with populations of the graded balls increasing, we were able to create our first autograph Registry, the Autographed Baseball Registry. This new Registry is now online with four set compositions available. To visit the Autographed Baseball Registry, click here. If you have autographed baseballs that are not graded and you would like to participate in the Registry, contact PSA/DNA for further information.

PSA Q & A

Question: On a signed item, is more content considered better?

Answer: It depends on the item. Generally speaking, the depth of content can affect the ultimate value of the item in a positive way. For example, a handwritten letter with more content is usually considered to be more valuable than one that exhibits less because, in essence, you are offered more handwriting from the subject. What is more important than the size of the content is, of course, the quality. A specific, noteworthy reference within the content can dramatically affect the value of a piece. For example, a Lou Gehrig letter that contains references to baseball would generally be considered more valuable than one that contains a reference to a gift the received from a non-celebrity friend.
