Autograph Analysis and Signing Habits of Hall of Fame Catcher Roger Phillip "The Duke of Tralee" Bresnahan
The Duke of Tralee wasn't a duke and didn't even come from Tralee, although he liked to tell everybody that he did. Rather, he was a solid catcher and equipment designer whose clever innovations helped secure his place in the Hall of Fame. Autograph expert James Spence, Jr. examines the career and signing habits of this irascible Irishman. Click here to read more.

SET REGISTRY SPOTLIGHT

Rivard Collection - The Number One Current Finest Carl Yastrzemski Basic Set
There is good reason to collect Carl Yastrzemski. Besides being a baseball Hall of Famer, he also he won the Triple Crown, the last player to achieve the feat. The Yastrzemski basic set consists of 34 cards, including some early tough Topps issues. Doug Rivard has won the "Best of the Registry" award for two years running and looks to capture the 2004 icon as well. And, let's not forget to mention that Doug is also working on the 311-card master set where he's 66% complete. Congratulations! Click here to enjoy!

PSA Q & A

Question: Will my 1984 Fleer Update Roger Clemens rookie be considered "vintage" someday?

Answer: This is a great question. A lot of collectors assume that the word "vintage" has all to do with the age of the card. While age is a factor, that is not the whole story. The hobby evolved in the early 1980s to the point that collectors started to protect their cards in plastic sleeves, screwdowns, etc. Because of that fact, cards started to become protected in large quantities, thus, providing the market with plenty of high-grade examples today. Not all of them are easy to find in ultra-top grades such as PSA Gem Mint 10. but cards from this era will never really be referred to as "vintage."
