Guerrero's Got the Good Ol' Boys Smilin'
Vladimir Guerrero is one of the hottest players in the game of baseball right now. He's famous for his smile, and he's got good reason to show it -- in the first half of the season, he was among the league leaders in a half-dozen statistical categories, and he's still going strong. He's got the veteran Angel fans smiling too. Click here to read more.
PSA SPOTLIGHT
Autograph Analysis and Signing Habits of Hall of Fame Executive Byron Bancroft "Ban" Johnson
"Ban" was largely responsible for the success of baseball's American League. He brought new vitality to the game, expanding its popularity and instituting a number of important reforms. He was also a ruthless autocrat, ruling his league like a dictator and becoming involved in no end of personal disputes with other baseball executives. James Spence, Jr. examines the career and signing habits of this early baseball "czar." Click here to read on.

- Set Requests and New PSA Set RegistrySM Software Timeline
We are in the process of testing the new PSA Set RegistrySM software. This is a very time-consuming project because we must make certain that every item in every set composite has a unique number. In order to get this accomplished in a timely fashion, the entire Set Registry staff will be working on this project. Therefore, please make note of the following set request issues:
- For the next 4-6 weeks any new set request received will be added to the Set Request list, however the composite will not be put online until after the launch of the new Registry software. We hope to be beta testing at the end of August and launch the new software by mid-September.
- Any requests received after August 31st for card additions to player sets which are already online will not be added to the player sets until after the awards deadline on October 31st.
- Customer service issues such as the release of cards from other member's sets, certification number problems, and codes for free grading should not be affected during this test time. Should you have any questions, please email setregistry@collectors.com.
Set Registry Special! $12 per card/5 business days - cards valued up tp $500. No Minimum. (Excludes Super Sized cards.) Click here for details.

PSA Q & A
Question:
What is worth more: a full name/legal autograph or just the basic name?
Answer:
Good question. You might see "Mickey Mantle" autographs in the market or "Mickey Charles Mantle" -- which one is worth more? In many cases, if the full name signature is considered scarce, that version is worth a premium. On the flip side, you may see more interest in a "Babe Ruth" autograph versus a "George Herman Ruth" because people associate "Babe" with the legendary ballplayer -- not "George." In other cases, Ruth may sign his entire name "George Herman 'Babe' Ruth" which is considered quite desirable. You know what they say, "Beauty is on the eye of the beholder." In any event, for those who appreciate scarcity, the full name signatures will often offer a tough challenge and a premium price.
