The Original Street Sign from the Brooklyn Dodgers' Ebbets Field

New York, NY (Jan. 13, 2014) - Jackie Robinson's 1947 Rookie of the Year Award with a letter from his widow, Rachel, sold for $401,968 at the Lelands.com Fall 2013 Catalog Auction on Jan. 10. The trophy, which Robinson won for the season during which he broke baseball's color barrier, was sold to an anonymous buyer.

Other one-of-a-kind memorabilia sold as part of the Lelands.com auction include an extremely rare T206 Honus Wagner baseball card PSA2 ($657,200), the jersey worn by Christian Laettner when he made "The Shot" for Duke against Kentucky in the 1992 NCAA Tournament ($119,500), the original street sign outside the Brooklyn Dodgers' Ebbets Field ($58,852), St. Louis Cardinals legend Red Schoendienst's National Baseball Hall of Fame Presentation Plaque ($46,999) and MLB signed contract collection ($21,925), a rare 1961 Topps Dice Game Willie Mays PSA 6 ($30,995) and baseball great Livan Hernandez's 1997 Florida Marlins World Championship ring ($18,752).

The auction also included hockey legend Gordie Howe's game-used rookie skates and stick ($10,585), a 1971 World Championship Pittsburgh Pirates team signed baseball ($12,511), a huge collection of original George Burke negatives ($41,254), a 1944 St. Louis Browns "owner's" ring ($27,754) and an 1870s-1880s Yale football and baseball collection including the earliest known Michigan program ($28,177)
