Centennial, CO- Mile High Card Company's fall auction continues with live bidding that will culminate on October 20th. The auction opened up for bidding on October 3rd and has been met with exceptional interest and excitement for the nearly 1450-lot event, which is decidedly smaller in scope as MHCC has started a smaller internet bi-monthly auction known as MHCC Extra Innings. When asked to give a brief overview of the fall auction company founder and CEO Brian Drent described the sale as "a presentation of some of the finest material available on the market, at the current time, with several exceptional items that are being offered fresh to collectors".
Catalogs, which were shipped on September 30th, are all in collector's hands as of this writing, present much more like a high end coffee table book rather than an auction catalog with interesting well written descriptions as well as stunning imagery of the high caliber items. The auction is paced by an extensive array of high- grade singles for which MHCC is well known, but also includes a tremendous selection of high- grade complete sets and groups, non- sports material, autographs, game- worn collectibles, photographs, and unopened material. All of this makes the fall MHCC auction a collecting event for enthusiasts from every genre of our hobby.
A couple of the highlights from this exceptional sale are the following: A stunning and exceedingly rare 1888 Yum Yum Tobacco Cap Anson which has been graded VG 3, a superlative 1907 W600 Sporting Life cabinet of Ty Cobb that is the highest graded copy in the hobby having been graded VG 3 by PSA, also offered is a stunning 24-card uncut 1933 Goudey sheet that features a beautiful #53 Babe Ruth as well four other HOFers, as well the MHCC sale includes the highest PSA graded copy of the rare 1909-11 T206 Bill O'Hara St. Louis which has been graded PSA NM 7, not to be overlooked is a spectacular 1914 Cracker Jack #103 Joe Jackson that has been graded NM 7, a new to the hobby 1914 Cracker Jack #88 Christy Mathewson is also offered in a PSA 2 GD holder but presenting much stronger visual eye appeal, The sale also offers a stunning and altogether delicious offering of an unopened 1961-62 Fleer Basketball unopened box of 24 packs, and last but certainly not least is a terrific and imagination conjuring 1953-54 Parkhurst #27 Jean Beliveau rookie card that has been graded an awesome GEM MINT 10!
