AMHERST, N.H - An extremely rare un-inscribed signed Marilyn photo will be featured at auction at RRAuction in Amherst, NH.

The RR Auction entertainment category boasts an exceptional group of Marilyn Monroe items, including a 1951 check to her psychoanalyst, a rare 1946 signature as "Norma Jeane Dougherty," and a rare, glorious, un-inscribed photo signed at the height of her career. Other items of special note include a vintage presentation with the ever-elusive signature of Jean Harlow; wonderful examples of signed photos from Lon Chaney, Jr., Carole Lombard, Rudolf Valentino, and Natalie Wood; and a one-of-a-kind collection of celebrity clothing buttons, with signed presentations, from Hollywood's Golden Age.

Sports gems include a check signed twice by Babe Ruth just two months before his death, as well as an excellent signed photo from his 1933 "playing vacation" in Hawaii; a strong Lou Gehrig signature presented to the son of a boxing champion; a baseball signed by Ruth and Gehrig; a check made out to his manager and signed by Joe Louis with his seldom-seen given name; and a Bobby Jones letter recalling "a pretty tough guy to handle on the golf course."

More than a century of music, from the Romantic period to the most famous names in rock, is showcased by an important Wagner letter related to his Ring Cycle; a Brahms letter alluding to Beethoven; a Tchaikovsky letter mentioning a production of Mazeppa; a superlative Puccini letter on the initial failure of his masterpiece Madama Butterfly; a remarkable, detailed letter from W. C. Handy; an elusive signed first-edition copy of Billie Holiday's memoirs; a selection of outstanding Beatles items, including a complete set of signatures on a single page and a concert program signed by all four; a lengthy and revealing letter from 22-year-old Janis Joplin to her boyfriend; two unusual souvenirs signed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono; and a customs form filled out and signed by John Lennon for his final trip abroad.
