The Wagner has sold, the National Sports Convention is upon us and the rest of that T206 set is now close to auction.
The state of the hobby is very exciting right now with the recent publicity surrounding the sale of the famous T206 Honus Wagner. It sold for an amazing $1,265,000! You can read an in-depth report about the entire sale which included several other PSA graded cards and spectacular memorabilia by clicking on the link at the end of this article. The market levels of high-end sports memorabilia continue to rise and participation seems to be at an all-time high. This is great news for collectors and dealers alike.
In addition, the National Sports Convention has arrived to Southern California. This will be a great opportunity to analyze what's happening in the market and what items are hot. We will bring you a full report in the next edition of the Market Report. As always, I am sure there will be a lot to talk about.
Finally, the rest of the T206 set is coming to auction in early August and the excitement has already begun. With the recent sale of the Wagner, the timing couldn't be more perfect. The Kirk Harris set is, by far, the nicest in the world and it was the very first set to be pedigreed. Each card will be labeled "Harris Collection" at the top. You can read more about this amazing set in the article entitled "Condition Colossus."
